# About

> For agents: start with the [agent guide](https://www.austinwallace.ca/llms.txt). Every page is Markdown by default; add `Accept: text/html` for HTML.

I'm Austin Wallace, a technical lead in Victoria, BC. I build data-heavy products and the AI workflows that help build them.

## Now

- **Technical lead at Fastloop**, an AI consultancy. I lead several enterprise engagements at once and build the internal agent tooling the team uses. [More on that work](/work/fastloop).
- **Solstice**, my own sports-organization platform. It runs Quadball Canada in production. [Solstice](/work/solstice).
- **Automated game-video tagging** inside Solstice: models watch quadball film and produce stats. [How it works](/work/video-tagging).

| 2024–2025 | Clio | Data engineer. Databricks pipelines, a Redshift-to-Databricks migration diff tool, and the company's AI best-practices guide. |
| 2022–2024 | New Jersey Devils | Sole data developer. Built the platform analysts used for player decisions, including NHL tracking data at 10 million rows per game. |
| 2020–2022 | Teck Resources (RACE21) | Data developer. |

I studied machine learning and commerce at UBC, in a degree I designed myself.

Outside work, I chaired the International Quidditch Association board, representing 30+ national governing bodies.

## How I work

I direct agents more than I type code. Most of my projects run on written plans, a second model reviewing the first, and checks in the real app before anything counts as done. I write about it on the [blog](/blog).
